Life Path and Career History

It was very early on in life that Lalezar got the taste of how satisfying it was to help someone in their learning journey, when in 3rd grade she was chosen to tutor a fellow classmate who had just moved to the States from abroad. She was then living in Brooklyn, New York enjoying growing up in the Big Apple.

Human nature and social dynamics were always a passion which accounts for her choice of Sociology as her major in university. During her school years, her admiration and awe of the classroom dynamics had her thinking she would become an academic. However, upon her graduation, her first job as an HR Consultant with PwC brought such a new world of possibilities that her that her career took a whole new direction. What was supposed to be a part-time position during the thesis year of her Master’s Degree, turned into a life-long career in consultancy, which she began and established in Istanbul, Turkey.

Through her many consulting and HR positions in global consulting firms (PwC, Nicholson International, Accenture, DDI Turkey) Lalezar had the opportunity of designing, leading and delivering HR, Learning & Development projects to a multitude of multinational global clients. Throughout the various types of projects Lalezar lead, the projects where Lalezar was  supporting people in their individual development was what Lalezar found most rewarding. With the clarity gained after 10 years in HR Consulting and L&D, in 2007 Lalezar turned to pursue her passion as a Freelance L&D Consultant and Facilitator.  Perhaps a passion that started all the way back in 3rd grade, was now truly formulated as she focused all her time and energy in the design and delivery of powerful programs for participants across the world.

In 2017, Lalezar is now settled in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where she has started a new chapter in her career by founding her company Connect Learning & Development. After having lived in – and enjoyed living in –  two of the most hectic and busy cities in the world, she is enjoying the ‘Carolina Blue’ skies in her new hometown with her husband, Mehmet, and their two fabulous children, Bora and Lara.
